Writing poetry has become a daily practice for me — a way to distill the deepest parts of my inner world into words that can be shared.
These poems are symbolism of my deepest thoughts. They come from morning journaling, from moments of stillness between classes, from the quiet space before sleep when the mind finally softens.
I share them with my yoga students as inspiration during their practice. Poetry helps cultivate creativity and open-ness in the mind through avenues other than yoga asana (the physical practice).
Some are original compositions. Others are poems I've discovered online that resonate with where I am right now — in my practice, my teaching, my life. What matters is not who wrote them, but how they land in your body when you hear them.
I believe that words, when offered with sincerity, have the power to unlock something in the listener that logic alone cannot reach.
